Tom Comes Home Tuesday Night
Here is where the bathroom is for Tom's return. I'm finishing up the mirror and have a few pictures and towel holders to hang. I think it looks good and will look much better when the molding is up. I don't have the correct tool for cutting so that is on the back burner for right now. But, I think everything else turned out great and I think Tom is going to really like the vanity with the mesquite countertop and copper sink. He doesn't know about that part. Not until tomorrow night.

Calling in the Professional
I decided to get help finishing the tile and it was a fine decision. He will be back today to grout and then the vanity and toilet go in the next day. Tom will be home May 12th so time is running out. I think it is looking great and I'm really looking forward to seeing how the pebbles look once they are grouted.

Tile

The drywall is finished and the new window has been installed. The amount of light that comes in now is unbelievable and it was past time to replace the old one. When I was taking out the old one, I pushed the screen a little and it tore open. So, now we have a new look and a functional window! And, most importantly, Doc likes it.

Drywall!!
Today I put in some of the drywall and cut out the opening for the window. I found some nice windows today at Lowe's that fit the same hole and they're only $66.00 so I am going to add those to the budget and put a new one in my restroom, too. That will have to wait a while until I can have someone help me so I don't screw them up. The windows we have are original aluminum windows and very drafty but the new ones are efficient windows by Pella so they will make the room look so much nicer.

The Shower Taking Shape
Here is a view of the shower with the cement backerboard up. The hole next to where the showerhead goes is a niche which will have a shelf and accommodate two levels of shampoo, soap, etc. I also included a picture of the new recessed light in the shower. The trim kit isn't on the recessed light yet but it is brushed nickel which is what I'll use for all the fixtures throughout the bathroom.

The Project
I'll return and add pictures of the bathroom from the start but these show progress from demolition and now I'm about to start on building up the shower. So far this has been fun but I have a feeling that's about to change once I start doing stuff that doesn't involve tearing out. Now I'm going to get to the parts where I don't know what I'm doing. Oh well, Dad and Jay always showed me that all you need to do is just jump in and start and learn as you go.
